A Perfect Getaway with Delightful Dining
Our two-night stay was memorable, filled with indulgence. We enjoyed a scrumptious cream tea while soaking in views of the beautiful grounds. The friendly staff ensured a pleasant dining experience, despite a minor hiccup with our dinner. Don't miss the exquisite desserts!

The Standard Double Room was spacious and comfortable, clean too. The bed was super comfy, which is a big plus. The bathroom had a nice rainfall shower that felt luxurious. A bit of freshening up in decor wouldn’t hurt, but overall not bad. Had everything I needed for a short stay.

Enjoyed a fantastic getaway with our dogs in a spacious courtyard room that was impeccably clean. The grounds were perfect for walks, full of squirrels and birds. Dinner was exceptional, surpassing expectations with a busy restaurant atmosphere and menu choices. Breakfast shone with fresh selections, especially the perfectly grilled kippers. While the hotel is on the pricier side, it truly delivers a luxurious experience.

missingWrote a review on 14 Mayhistoric decoroutdoor groundspoor ventilation
The historic character shines through in the beautiful decor and architecture, making it a unique spot to lay low. Plenty of outdoor grounds offer a nice stretch for a relaxing stroll after a long day.
The absence of adequate hooks for towels or clothes in the bathroom is a real head-scratcher. basic functionality should be spot-on. Blinds hardly block light, making that 'sleep in' feel more like an awkward awakening. the room can get uncomfortably hot, even with a fan, which doesn't help during warmer nights.

The evening dining at the restaurant was a right treat, with some top-notch dishes that really hit the spot! And don’t even get me started on the quick room service—piping hot and delicious. Plus, the staff are as welcoming as a good cuppa on a chilly day!
Not gonna lie, the pillows were a major letdown—so flat they barely registered! The room itself was a bit tired, needing some sprucing up. It wasn’t fresh, and the overall shine was missing.
